The book of Galatians is an important book for same sex attracted and gender diverse persons (LGBTIQ). In this letter Paul is angry because the Jewish people are still trying to achieve salvation through the law and telling the Gentiles that they must follow the Mosaic law. The problem with this Paul explains is that our salvation was never based on the law but rather it was based on a promise God made to Abraham. God told Abraham that all nations would be blessed through him. Every believer in Jesus Christ is now part of Abraham’s family and more importantly a “Child of the Promise. Let’s listen in and discover our heritage and inheritance-in Christ.
At Melbourne Inclusive Church we do not believe that our same sex attraction or gender diversity is a sin but rather a beautiful expression of the diversity of God. But we all sin and we need a Saviour. This good news is for everyone so regardless of your view we should agree on this one thing…we are not saved by the law-we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ. This debate was finished at Calvary.
