Melbourne Inclusive Church has been a vibrant part of Melbourne’s LGBTIQA+ Christian community since 2012. From its humble beginnings as a small living room gathering to its current home, Melbourne Inclusive Church has remained dedicated to sharing the inclusive love of Jesus Christ.

In early 2009, God called Pastor Becky Bauer to lead a church plant in Melbourne supported by Encounter Missions International (EMI). By November of 2009, Pastor Becky had moved from California to Melbourne and held our very first service.

Throughout its many stages of growth, Melbourne Inclusive Church has warmly welcomed many wonderful people into its family, sowing seeds of faith, serving Melbourne and its diverse LGBTIQA+ community, their families and allies.

We recognise our unique position as a safe place of worship for those who have not felt welcome in other churches due to their sexuality or gender identity and are actively changing this narrative through the affirmation of all of God’s children and inclusive biblical teachings.

We believe God made you who you are and has a great plan for you; your gender and sexual identity is a part of that plan. We want to help you realise your God-given dreams and see that the passion placed in your very DNA is God’s calling on your life.

Having a presence in the community is important to us. We proudly participate in Melbourne’s Midsumma Festival each year, hold regular Faith and Sexuality workshops and stay connected through our online and in-person Connect Groups.

Encounter Missions International (EMI) is a global organisation dedicated to sharing an inclusive Gospel message and supporting the creation of inclusive Christian communities. EMI believes that everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, race or gender, deserves the opportunity to choose God’s love.

Founded in 2000 in California USA, EMI has planted inclusive churches and small groups all around the world, including USA, Taiwan, Mexico, Australia and Japan.
