Connect Groups

With you through the week

At MIC, our Connect Groups are designed to be a safe space for you to explore and grow in your relationship with God with the support of a loving church community. We have two eConnect Groups that meet online on Wednesdays and a monthly in-person Connect Group for people who identify as queer women of colour.

You do not need to be a church member to join any of our Connect Groups, all are welcome!

Queer Women of Colour (QWoC)

QWoC is our in-person Connect Group for Queer Women of Colour (QWOC) to explore the intersectionality of sexuality, gender, culture and faith. This group meets monthly and is led by Cherlyn and Su-An who identify as Christian queer women of colour themselves. They have been attending MIC since 2021.

Su-An and Cherlyn are passionate about community, eating good food and centering their lives and identity around the true and inclusive nature of Jesus. They felt a prompting from God to create a space for people of similar intersecting experiences to come together to fellowship, pray and grow in their faith.

Both of them grew up with fond memories of people gathering in their homes and are blessed that they are now able to do that for their family in Christ. They would love to connect with you if you would like to know more information about attending QWoC.

QWoC is open to transgender and cisgender, including non-binary and gender non-conforming people who identify, or are identified as others, as women, including people assigned female at birth, who are Black, Brown, Asian, or any other non-White group.

QWoC alternates between Friday nights and Saturday afternoons.
