All throughout Scripture we see Jesus defending and walking alongside those that others considered less than or unworthy. Not only did Jesus welcome these people but he used them to bring about this “New Way” in which the law rather than being written on tablets of stone, would be written on our hearts. They understood their need for Jesus while the religious leaders only mocked him. Jesus advocated then and now advocates for us in Heaven. Jesus is always praying for us but when we sin, he stands in our place as our advocate and says….debt paid.
